Gill-Sudharsan surpass Gayle and Kohli after yet another century partnership in GT vs RR Qualifier 2
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have become a synonym of consistency in the Indian Premier League over the years and one of the major reasons behind Gujarat Titans’ consistent performances so far.
The duo once again stood tall in a high-pressure situation while chasing a massive target in Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. They not only stitched yet another 100-run stand but also ensured the required rate remained well within reach throughout the chase.

Gill and Sudharsan dominate RR in Qualifier 2 chase
On the back of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s scintillating 96-run knock, RR posted 214 runs for the loss of six wickets in Qualifier 2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s sensational innings, combined with Donovan Ferreira’s finishing touches, ensured RR finished with a daunting total on the board.
Coming out to chase, it looked like a tough target considering the pressure of a massive knockout clash. However, Gill and Sudharsan stood tall once again for Gujarat Titans.
Right from the very first over, the duo started accumulating boundaries regularly, finding gaps beautifully and putting RR bowlers under pressure. Both batsmen went on to complete brilliant half-centuries, with Gill especially looking unstoppable during the chase.
Grim and disappointed faces were visible around the Rajasthan Royals dugout as GT continued to dominate the contest.
At the end of the 11th over, Gujarat Titans had raced to 144 runs without losing a wicket, with Gill batting on 81 off just 39 deliveries, while Sudharsan was unbeaten on 51 off 27 balls.
Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan also completed 700 runs in an IPL season for the second consecutive year, equaling legends like Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle.
