Which Premier League club benefitted most from VAR errors?
Chelsea benefitted the most from Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and on-field referee errors in the recently concluded Premier League season.
According to the BBC, based on the league’s key match incidents (KMI) panel’s report, Chelsea had four mistakes from the VAR, which helped its cause, while it wasn’t on the recieving end of any VAR error.
Overall, Chelsea benefitted from eight refereeing errors, while Arsenal had seven going its way.
Arsenal, which won a first league title in 22 years, had three VAR errors, which favoured it, while not suffering any errors in return.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal became the first team in history to not receive any red card or a penalty against it throughout the season.
In total, there were 25 VAR errors this season, compared 18 from last campaign.
