Salman Khan Hosts Special Screening Of ‘Maatrubhumi’ For Subhash Ghai, Sooraj Barjatya & Friends

Mumbai: Salman Khan, preparing for the release of ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’, recently hosted a private screening of the movie for several close friends and industry colleagues.

Among those in attendance were Subhash Ghai, Sooraj Barjatya, David Dhawan, Kabir Khan, Rumi Jafry, Riteish Deshmukh and Chitrangda Singh.

Ghai later posted a photo from the evening on Instagram, which featured Salman in an all-black outfit, while Chitrangda looked elegant in a white ensemble.

“It was so beautiful to see my favourite directors together at Food Square today to watch a rough cut of Apoorva Lakhia’s film Maatrubhumi with lead stars Salman Khan and Chitrangda based on a touching story of soldiers of India and China at Galwan border with their respective emotions for their nations and their families with a theme of mutual peace and respect. Thank u dear Salman, for inviting and we wish you grand success of Maatrubhumi. With blessings,” Ghai wrote.

Salman shares a close bond with all filmmakers who attended the screening.

‘Maatrubhumi’ draws inspiration from the 2020 India-China Galwan Valley clash.

In the film, Salman essays the role of Colonel B. Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led Indian soldiers during the conflict.

Chitrangda stars as the female lead, with Ankur Bhatia and Zeyn Shaw also featuring in key roles.

The makers are yet to confirm the film’s release date.
