Bank Holidays in June: Banks will remain closed for many days in June! RBI released the complete list of holidays
Bank Holidays in June: Banks across India will remain closed for several days in June due to national, regional and religious holidays. Customers who are planning to visit the branches of SBI, HDFC Bank and other banks should check the holiday schedule in advance. Banking operations in government and private sector branches will remain closed on the days mentioned in the RBI holiday calendar. Some bank holidays are for certain states or localities, but bank branches remain closed on gazetted national holidays across the country. Customers can use digital banking services even during holidays, but will not be able to do banking transactions by going directly to the branch.
Banks will remain closed on these dates in June
In the RBI holiday calendar, some days are marked as non-working days for banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act, and some under the “Closure of Bank Accounts” Act. Here is the full list of holidays in June 2026:
- June 15: Banks will remain closed to commemorate the establishment of Young Mizo Association (YMA) in Aizawl. Banks will also remain closed in Bhubaneswar on the same day for Raja Sankranti.
- June 25: Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada due to Muharram.

Saturday and Sunday holidays
According to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all scheduled and non-scheduled banks will compulsorily remain closed on every second and fourth Saturday as well as every Sunday of the month. This means that customers will not be able to go to the bank branch to avail services these days. There are four Sundays this month, so banks will remain closed on 7, 14, 21 and 28 June. Apart from Sunday, banks will also remain closed on June 13 (second Saturday) and June 27 (fourth Saturday).
Online banking will remain open during holidays
During bank holidays, online banking services are available across the country. Customers can use these services for easy financial transactions. UPI or the app of the concerned bank can be used to make payments and take money from others. These services run 24/7, whether the banks are open or not. However, sometimes, these services may be stopped due to scheduled maintenance, about which the bank will inform you in advance. Fund transfer requests can also be made using NEFT/RTGS transfer form, demand draft request form and check book form. Apart from these options, credit cards, debit cards and ATM cards can also be availed through card services. Services like account maintenance forms, setting standing instructions and applying for locker are also available.
