In the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar was unanimously elected as the new leader of the legislature party. Along with this, after a long time of speculation, Congress finally approved the name of the 24th CM of the state. Let us tell you that after resigning from the post of Chief Minister on May 28, former CM Siddaramaiah had proposed his name which was passed unanimously.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal announced
The election of DK Shivakumar to the legislature party was announced by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. He also informed that the swearing-in ceremony of Shivkumar will be held on the evening of June 3. He also said that DK Shivkumar is going to Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form the government and will take oath as Chief Minister along with his team on the evening of June 3.
Siddaramaiah had proposed
According to the information, Siddaramaiah had proposed the name of DK Shivakumar as the new leader in the legislative party meeting. Congress general secretaries KC Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala were made observers of the meeting.

Congress leader Chandrashekhar told that DK Shivakumar will visit the ‘Glass House’ of Lok Bhawan on 3 June. Will take oath. According to sources, during this period there will be a change in the cabinet along with the CM. 10 ministers can be removed from the current cabinet. The names of Siddaramaiah and Mallikarjun Kharge’s son are also included in this. Besides, 4 Deputy CMs of the state can also be made.
All MLAs unanimously supported
Let us tell you that all the MLAs together passed a resolution in which it was decided that the central leadership of Congress will decide on the new leader.
Siddaramaiah then proposed the name of DK Shivakumar as the new CLP leader and Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara supported the proposal and all the MLAs supported it.

DK Shivkumar has gone to Tihar jail
