He told, “I think and director Aditya Dhar himself has admitted that I was the first person to be cast in ‘Dhurandhar’. He had selected me for this role about 3-4 years ago, when his film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ was released. At that time he did not even have a firm script of the film, just a vague idea and on the basis of that idea, he had approved my name for this special character.

Expressing happiness over the unwavering trust expressed by Aditya Dhar, Rakesh Bedi said, “It is a matter of great pride for me that a capable director like Aditya Dhar thought about me. He chose me for this role after seeing my years of acting and work. I have always tried in my career to bring the character to life with my acting and take it forward. This is the reason why even today people call me ‘Jameel Jamali’, just like Years ago people recognized me from the character of the superhit show ‘Shriman Shrimati’.”
