CID notice to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee: Order to appear on June 1, serious allegations against investigating agencies
Kolkata. West Bengal CID has issued a notice to Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee. He has been asked to appear at the CID headquarters at Bhawani Bhawan at 12 noon on June 1.
On Saturday, a five-member CID team reached his residence in Kalighat, Kolkata and handed him a notice.
Notice handed over at residence-
After receiving the notice, Abhishek Banerjee said that the CID officers had to give this notice to him personally, hence they remained present at his residence. He claimed that the officers had earlier moved to some other place as they did not know the exact address of his house.
Accusation of putting pressure on investigating agencies-
Responding to the ongoing investigation and FIR registered against him, Abhishek Banerjee alleged that efforts are being made to put pressure against him. He said that he is not going to bow down under any circumstances.
Banerjee said, “Earlier there were only ED and CBI, now Bengal Police, Kolkata Police and KMC are also involved in the investigation. Earlier there were 2-3 agencies, now there are more than 5.”
He further said that attempts are being made to intimidate him, but he will not be affected by it.
Strong response-
Abhishek Banerjee said in sharp words that no matter how much pressure is put on him, he will not bow down. He said that he will not let himself be proven a traitor and is ready to face any situation.
At present, CID investigation is going on in this matter and further action will be decided after his appearance on June 1.
