WWE Smackdown Highlights: Alexa Bliss vs Jade Cargill

WWE Smackdown Highlights: WWE SmackDown took place from Olimpic Arena Badalona in Barcelona, Spain. It was the final SmackDown before Clash in Italy. The advertised main attraction saw The Miz face Spain’s own Axiom in a singles match.

Cody Rhodes was also scheduled to address GUNTHER ahead of his title defense at Clash in Italy. Since WWE was on its European tour, the show was taped earlier rather than airing live.

WWE Smackdown Highlights

Alexa Bliss vs Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill, B-FAB, and Michin opened the segment by talking up Jade’s dominance ahead of her title match with Rhea Ripley. Ripley interrupted and reminded Jade that she has already beaten her when it was one-on-one. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss soon joined the confrontation, leading to a heated war of words between both sides.

Nick Aldis then made a match between Alexa Bliss and Jade Cargill. The bout stayed competitive until interference from B-FAB and Michin distracted Bliss. Charlotte and Ripley chased them away, but the damage was done. Jade capitalized, countered Twisted Bliss, and finished Alexa with Jaded to score the pinfall victory.

Axiom vs the Miz

Axiom picked up a strong singles victory over The Miz after a fast-paced match. The masked star controlled much of the early action with his technical wrestling and quick strikes, while Miz slowed things down by targeting Axiom’s leg. Nathan Frazer also prevented Miz from walking out of the match, forcing him back into the ring.

After the break, both men traded near falls. Miz came close with a basement DDT and a slingshot powerbomb, but Axiom stayed alive. The finish came after Axiom hit an avalanche Spanish Fly and followed it up with the Golden Ratio kick for the pinfall victory.

Damian Priest & Royce Keys – The MFTs (Talla & Tama Tonga)

Damian Priest and Royce Keys showed good teamwork early against Tama and Talla Tonga. Keys impressed with a powerslam and a huge Pounce, while Priest and Keys briefly worked together to send the larger Talla to the floor before the match went to commercial.

After the break, Priest took control and nearly turned the match in his team’s favor. However, outside interference changed everything. Solo Sikoa distracted the referee and attacked Priest from the apron. Ron Killings ran out to help, but chaos broke out around ringside. Talla Tonga grabbed Priest by the throat and delivered the T-Bomb for the pinfall, giving the MFTs the victory.

Matt Cardona vs Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn picked up a hard-fought win over Matt Cardona after an evenly matched contest. The two traded holds and counters early before Cardona gained momentum with a missile dropkick and later came close to victory with a Tiger Driver that dropped Zayn dangerously on his neck.

After the break, both men exchanged near falls. Cardona finally hit the Rough Ryder, but Zayn barely survived by getting his foot on the bottom rope. Cardona missed a dive moments later, allowing Sami to regain control. Zayn followed with a corner exploder suplex and then connected with the Helluva Kick to secure the pinfall victory.

Carmelo Hayes vs “Absolute” Ricky Saints

Trick Williams opened the segment by declaring for the King of the Ring tournament alongside Lil Yachty. Carmelo Hayes interrupted and exchanged words with Trick before Ricky Saints joined the confrontation. Trick then slapped Saints and sent him tumbling out of the ring.

The match between Hayes and Saints was highly competitive. Both men traded momentum and several near falls. Neither wrestler could put the other away despite hitting some of their biggest moves. The action eventually spilled to the floor, where both continued fighting as the referee counted. Neither man returned to the ring in time, resulting in a double countout. After the match, Saints attacked Hayes, but Melo responded with a kick and a Codebreaker to stand tall.

Chelsea Green vs Nia Jax

Chelsea Green returned to singles action for the first time since February. She received a positive reaction from the crowd in Barcelona. Facing the much larger Nia Jax, Green spent most of the match fighting from underneath and looking for openings.

Jax appeared to be in complete control for much of the bout, using her power advantage to dominate. However, the finish came when Tiffany Stratton’s music distracted Jax. Stratton then struck her with the WWE Women’s United States Championship behind the referee’s back. Green quickly took advantage of the opening and scored the pinfall victory over Jax.

Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER Meet One Last Time

Cody Rhodes and Gunther came face-to-face one final time before their Undisputed WWE Championship match at Clash in Italy. Gunther criticized Rhodes, calling him an entitled star who benefited from his family name, while claiming he earned everything through hard work and sacrifice. He also said he cared only about being the best wrestler in WWE, not fan approval or attention.

Rhodes fired back by accusing Gunther of wanting the spotlight more than he admits. He said being champion comes with pressure and responsibility that Gunther secretly desires. Rhodes warned that Gunther would come close to winning but ultimately fall short. As the segment ended, Gunther reminded everyone that he retired John Cena after choking him out. He promised to do the same to Rhodes at Clash in Italy.
