Outsourced employees will be permanent, this government gave great news

News Desk. The Punjab government has taken a historic decision, giving great relief to thousands of raw and outsourced employees of the state. The state cabinet has approved the proposal to regularize more than 65 thousand outsourced, contractual and temporary employees.

Along with this, a big step has also been taken towards ending the long running contractual system. The government claims that this decision will provide employment security to thousands of families and the employees will also get a respectable working environment along with their rights.

What is the government’s decision?

After the approval of the Cabinet, now a large number of outsourced and raw employees will work directly under the government. Whereas earlier employees were appointed through contractors or agencies, in the new system the government will directly manage their appointment and service conditions. This step is being considered as a major change in the employment structure of the state.

Employees will get these big benefits

Under the new policy of the government, regular employees will get many important facilities. Like job stability and security, salary deposited directly into bank account, provident fund (PF) benefits, Employee State Insurance (ESI) facility, gratuity benefits, access to other government employee facilities. This will provide relief to the employees from the uncertainties related to the contract system.

Relief to those doing risky work

The government has also made special provisions for employees engaged in hazardous work like fire service, sewer cleaning and linemen. Such employees will be able to get the benefit of permanent service in less time than before, which will further strengthen their employment security.

Also paid attention to arrears and dearness allowance

The state government has also decided to constitute a special cabinet sub-committee to resolve pending matters related to employees and pensioners. This committee will work on payment of dues, dearness allowance and other financial matters.
