Clash between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli army close to siege of Nabatieh
Beirut, Lebanon). There is chaos in southern Lebanon. The military conflict between Israeli troops and Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah is not stopping.
At present, Israel’s entire emphasis is on encircling Lebanon’s main city Nabatieh from all sides. Nabatieh is a major stronghold of Hezbollah. Almost all its key commanders and leaders live in Nabatieh with their children.
The Shia-dominated Nabatieh are considered the main pillar of Hezbollah’s social base and ideology of resistance. The spark of armed rebellion against Israeli soldiers during the Ashura procession in 1983 arose from here.
Nabatieh is located very close to the border with Israel. Hezbollah fires rockets and missiles at Israeli cities from Nabatieh. Nabatieh – Nabatieh is the administrative headquarters of the Governorate and Qaza District.
According to Al Jazeera’s report, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers have reached very close to Nabatieh while attacking. At the same time, the towns in the war-ravaged South are being forcibly evacuated from the common people.
The IDF’s goal is to completely wipe out Hezbollah’s bases and its commanders. The Lebanese army is watching all this silently. Geopolitical analyst Joe Macron says the Lebanese army is “fully stretched” as Israeli troops expand their occupation of Lebanese territory.
According to the report, Israeli forces have advanced north towards Lebanon’s Litani River. Soldiers are slowly surrounding Nabatieh from all sides. Hezbollah immediately launched rocket attacks from Nabatieh in northern Israel.
Given the seriousness of the attack, Prime Minister Netanyahu has discussed with Defense Minister Israel Katz, Army Chief Eyal Zamir and senior officials handling the fronts in the North.
Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets from Nabatieh toward Israel’s north on Saturday. For the first time since the ceasefire on April 17, rockets have been attacked in Safad and Nahariya in northern Israel.
Israeli Army Radio said warning sirens were sounded 1,099 times in northern Israel. Meanwhile, Hezbollah said drone strikes had been carried out near the Natua settlement in northern Israel and the Galilee Forest military camp.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has demanded Israel to stop attacks in the southern part of the country. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said at least 3,371 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on the country since March 2.
