TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee had to see a similar scene in Hooghly district of West Bengal on Sunday. Kalyan Banerjee was going to lodge a protest at Chanditala police station. When on the way he had to face slogans of ‘chor-thief’ from the crowd. During this time a large number of police and central forces were present. At the same time, Kalyan Banerjee suddenly held his head with his hand and then fell on the ground.

Kalyan Banerjee alleged that the mob attacked him and injured him by hitting him with a ball. BJP has reacted to Kalyan Banerjee’s allegation that TMC MPs are doing drama. He is not injured. However, within 24 hours, politics has heated up due to the sloganeering of the angry mob against first Abhishek Banerjee and then Kalyan Banerjee and their attempts to confront them. Mamta Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee allege that BJP is instigating attacks from its workers. At the same time, BJP says that it has no involvement in these incidents. BJP says that the common people in West Bengal suffered so much during the 15-year rule of Mamata Banerjee that now their anger is coming out.

In the case of attack on Abhishek Banerjee, Sonarpur police itself has taken cognizance and taken action. Police have arrested five people for attacking Abhishek Banerjee. Investigation is ongoing in this matter. TMC is upset over the incident with Abhishek Banerjee and now Kalyan Banerjee. At the same time, BJP leaders are reminding the old incidents of how Abhishek and Kalyan Banerjee had threatened its leaders and got them attacked. Dilip Ghosh, a minister in the West Bengal government, has even said that when Abhishek Banerjee knew the situation, then why did he go to become a hero. Dilip Ghosh has also said that TMC leaders should not leave their homes. Otherwise more similar incidents may happen.
