TMC expels two MLAs from party, accused of indulging in anti-party activities

Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee expelled from the party

Kolkata. Trinamool Congress on Monday expelled two of its MLAs, Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee, over alleged anti-party activities. “It has been brought to the notice of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) through competent authority that despite being elected as a candidate nominated by AITC, you have repeatedly failed to attend the meetings called by the authorized leadership of the party and have involved yourself in anti-party activities,” the letter sent to the two MLAs said.

“It has also been found that you have been involved in such activities and have made statements which are prejudicial to the interests of the Trinamool Congress,” the letter signed by party vice president Chandrima Bhattacharya said. The letter said that after due consideration of the matter, the competent authority of Trinamool Congress has decided to expel you from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect.
