Murder mystery, suspense and thrill, tremendous trailer of ‘Rakh’ released
Tezzbuzz Desk – Prime Video, India’s most loved entertainment destination, today released the hair-raising trailer of its upcoming Prime Original investigative crime thriller series, Raakh. Based on a fantasy story, the series is directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy, created, written and co-directed by Anusha Nandkumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. The trailer gives a glimpse of such a cruel and horrifying crime, which not only completely breaks the families of the victims, but also brings out the scary face of hatred and brutality hidden within humans, which are present in our society. The series stars Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal, and Aamir Bashir in lead roles, while Akash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, Vivaan Sharma, Anshul Chauhan, Rakesh Bedi, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya will also be seen in important roles. Viewers in India as well as in 240 countries and territories around the world can enjoy the premiere of Rakh on June 12 only on Prime Video.
The shocking trailer of Raakh begins with a question no parent would ever want to hear: “How long have the children been missing?” This story is from the late 1970s in Delhi, when every parent believed that their children were completely safe to go out alone even after sunset, but a shocking crime broke this trust of the entire country. The heart-wrenching and intense scenes in the trailer depict a parent’s desperate hope of finding their children. To catch the perpetrators of this heinous crime, Sub-Inspector Jaiprakash, brilliantly played by Ali Fazal, launches a massive search operation. This campaign drags them into the quagmire of the sick mentality of those criminals, where there is no trace of human conscience, and then the most horrifying face of human evil comes to the fore.
Ali Fazal, who plays the role of Sub-Inspector Jaiprakash in this series, said, “When I was first approached for Rakh, I thought it would be a typical investigative crime thriller, but after reading the script, I was drawn towards it. Anusha, Sandeep and Prosit together have created a story which is layered, full of emotions and very close to the bitter truth of real life. Jaiprakash is very calm.” Apart from being a person of character, I found it very exciting to understand his mind. He has many flaws in his mind, and he is struggling to prove himself in the rapidly changing political-social environment. What really makes Rakh different is that it is not just an investigation of a police case, but also a story that deeply understands human nature. And this series will be truly exciting for audiences around the world.”
Actress Sonali Bendre, who plays the character of Mona Arora in this series, said, the story of ‘Rakh’ came to me at a time when I had become very conscious about the kind of stories I wanted to be a part of. I really liked this story with many layers and very deep at the level of emotions. Although this story progresses like a suspense thriller, it actually brings out human emotions very seriously. This series gave me as an actor the opportunity to understand those aspects of human emotions which I had never experienced till date. Mona is a character who is delicate and calm at the same time strong from within, and playing this character was a really beautiful experience for me. I loved working with Prosit, Anusha and Sandeep, and I am grateful to them for presenting the story with such sincerity and honesty. I hope the audience will feel as deeply connected to this story as we did while bringing it to screen.”
Actor Aamir Bashir, who plays the role of Lieutenant Colonel Ashok Arora in this series, said, “For me, ‘Rakh’ is not just an investigative crime drama. It is a story woven in many layers which pulls you in from the very first scene. The most special and difficult thing about my character is that it is the story of a person whose life has always been bound by rules and regulations, but he has to face such deep sorrows. And the turmoil that one has to go through has been one of the most difficult experiences of my career. This journey would not have been possible without the actors who worked with me, namely Sonali and the wonderful team behind the camera. I hope that 12 June. “When it premieres on Prime Video, audiences in India and around the world will connect with this powerful story.”
