Big action in ICC board meeting, ban imposed on this country, approval for pink ball trial in test cricket

ICC: Many big decisions were taken in the important meeting of the International Cricket Council held in Ahmedabad. During this time, the board has taken a big decision and suspended the Canada Cricket Board with immediate effect, while the trial of pink ball in Test cricket has also been approved.

Why was Cricket Canada banned?

In fact, there are allegations that Canada Cricket was violating its membership obligations, due to which the ICC has decided to suspend them. According to Cricbuzz, the ICC issued a statement saying that the Canada Cricket Board has been suspended with immediate effect. However, this will not have any impact on the players and the national team will continue to participate in ICC tournaments.

Also, ICC has made it clear that this is an administrative decision and to ensure that it does not affect the players financially, the financial assistance will continue under a special monitoring system. Also, Cricket Canada will have to accept certain conditions of ICC to reinstate its membership, the purpose of which will be to remove administrative shortcomings.

Pink ball trial approved

Along with this, in this meeting ICC has approved the trial of use of pink ball in Test cricket. Under this proposal, if the light is bad during the match, then with the consent of both the teams, the pink ball can be used in place of the red ball. Use of pink ball can be seen in the upcoming test matches in low light conditions. Apart from this, ICC also discussed about organizing a global qualifier tournament for the Men’s T20 World Cup.
