Accident with Gujarat Titans after IPL final, team bus went up in smoke in the middle of the road, created commotion

Ahmedabad. A major accident was averted with the players and support staff of Gujarat Titans (GT) after the defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Final on Sunday. Due to short circuit in the bus returning to the hotel with the team, the vehicle broke down midway, after which the players and staff had to be immediately evacuated from the bus.

According to the report, after a technical fault occurred in the bus, smoke started spreading inside. Seeing the situation, the team management and security personnel evacuated the players and support staff safely from the bus. It is a matter of relief that no player or staff member was injured in this incident.

After the incident, the entire team kept waiting on the roadside for some time. Later, another bus was arranged, through which the players and support staff were taken to the hotel.

The incident came at the end of an already disappointing day for Gujarat Titans. The team had to face defeat by five wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2026 final played on Sunday. With this defeat, Gujarat’s dream of winning the title was also shattered.

Even before the final, the travel schedule of Gujarat Titans was quite busy and challenging. The team traveled from Dharamshala to Mullanpur on 27th May, where Qualifier-2 was played against Rajasthan Royals on 29th May.

After this, there was a plan to return to Ahmedabad on May 30, but due to bad weather in Mullanpur, the team’s flight was affected for a long time. After continuous delay, the Gujarat Titans team could reach its home ground Ahmedabad late on Saturday evening.

In such a situation, the defeat in the final and then the technical fault in the team bus put a disappointing end to a long and tiring campaign full of difficulties for Gujarat Titans. However, the most relieving thing was that despite the spread of smoke in the bus, all the players and staff remained completely safe.
