Punjab News: HPCL will invest in Punjab, refinery, biofuel and biogas projects will get a boost.

Punjab News: Preparations to write a new story of industrial development on the soil of Punjab have been completed. To promote investment and business in the state, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited i.e. HPCL has taken a big decision. The company is going to expand its footprint in key sectors like refinery, biofuel and biogas within Punjab. A very important meeting was held between Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and HPCL Chairman Vikas Kaushal regarding this big project. In this meeting, many major decisions regarding the development of the state and employment to the youth have been approved. The Chief Minister has made it clear that the environment of Punjab is completely favorable for industries.

Strong infrastructure and government policies

During the meeting, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann mentioned the strong industrial policy and better infrastructure of the state. He said that his government is continuously making such efforts so that big industrialists of the country and the world move towards Punjab. The geographical position of Punjab is such that it is very well connected to the National Capital Region and major ports. Apart from this, there is no shortage of skilled workers in the state. For the convenience of investors, the government has prepared a fast track single window system, through which industries get all types of approvals in a very short time.

Energy will be made from agricultural residues

HPCL Mittal Energy Limited is going to play the most important role in this entire scheme. The company is starting work on new projects related to biogas and biofuel in Punjab. In the project in Bathinda, using modern technology, excellent products are being made from agricultural residues i.e. stubble. The big thing is that HPCL is working on setting up ten biogas plants in the state, out of which five plants have already started functioning. With this, farmers will get the right price for their stubble and agricultural waste, which will increase their income and will not harm the environment.

Rural economy will get strength

This new investment is expected to give a new strength to the rural economy of Punjab. When biogas plants are set up near villages, the local youth there will get direct employment. The Chief Minister has assured the HPCL officials that the state government will fully support them in this entire project and the work will not be allowed to stop at any level. Many senior officials including Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Ravi Bhagat and Industries Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh were present in this meeting, who gave their consent to speed up the economic development of Punjab.
