Rishabh Pant quits the leadership of Lucknow
This season was very disappointing for Lucknow Super Giants. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the team won only four out of 14 matches and finished at the bottom of the points table. Pant’s performance as a batsman also deteriorated. He made several changes to the batting order throughout the season. In particular, the decision to send Nicholas Pooran up the order failed. After all the matches, Pant faced criticism. After this he voluntarily resigned as captain.
Crisis on Hardik Pandya too
Mumbai Indians (MI) handed over the captaincy to Hardik Pandya with high expectations after removing Rohit Sharmala, who won five trophies. Kolkata Knight Riders replaced Shreyas Iyer with Ajinkya Rahane as captain. But the team did not get the expected success under his leadership. KKR finished seventh in the points table this year. The 37-year-old Rahane has scored 335 runs in 14 matches, but the team can either remove the 37-year-old from the captaincy or release him before next season.
