How to take care of children’s health in summer

The heat wave has troubled people across the country. The risk of heat stroke and heatstroke has increased in this season, which especially affects the health of those who are working outside. The government has issued health advisories to avoid the heat. Problems like headache, fatigue and dizziness have become common due to heatwave. Children should also take care of their health during this season, especially when they are studying in the library for long hours.

don’t skip breakfast

Children should start the day with a protein-rich breakfast. For this, they can soak gram at night and eat it in the morning. This will keep the stomach full for a long time. Children who do not like gram can consume poha or sattu.

take care of hydration

It is very important to keep the body hydrated in summer. Children should drink water every hour, and not wait until they feel thirsty. Coconut water, buttermilk and lassi are also good options.

sit in a cool place

To avoid heatwave, children should sit under a fan or AC. Sitting in a well-ventilated place keeps the body temperature normal, which helps in concentrating on studies.

Avoid tea and coffee

Consuming tea and coffee in summer can dehydrate the body. They contain caffeine, which can increase body temperature. It’s okay to drink one cup of tea or coffee a day, but not more.

Children should wear cotton clothes while going to the library. These clothes are comfortable and do not allow sweating in summer. Dark colored clothes should be avoided.
