Russia’s most terrifying ‘double tap’ attack on Ukraine so far, Kiev trembled with more than 60 missiles
New Delhi:The ongoing military conflict between Ukraine and Russia has once again taken a very destructive turn. Russia has launched the most gruesome and well-planned ballistic missile attack ever, targeting several major cities of Ukraine. This major air attack has shaken big cities like the capital Kiev, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipro and Kamianske. Amidst these explosions in the sky throughout the night, huge devastation has been recorded in residential areas and military bases.
All-out attack with modern lethal weapons
The Russian Army has used its most modern and destructive weapons in this military operation. The seriousness of the attack can be gauged from the fact that it included Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Tornado-S multiple rocket launchers, extremely high-speed Zircon hypersonic missiles and S-300/400 air defense missiles.
Cruise and ballistic missiles fired
According to Ukrainian officials, a total of more than 60 cruise and ballistic missiles were fired across the country. Ukraine’s air defense system retaliated by using its American Patriot interceptors extensively to protect Kiev, causing massive explosions in the sky as they tried to neutralize the missiles. Earlier, reports of a massive fire had also come from Starokostyantiniv Air Base.
destruction in residential areas
The most cruel thing about this attack was that civilian targets were directly targeted in it. According to the Mayor of Kiev, the Russian army used double tap technique in Podilsky district. Under this strategy, missiles were fired twice at the same residential building within a short period of time, so that the rescue team that reached there after the first disaster could also be targeted. Due to this, a multi-storey apartment there was completely razed to the ground.
huge loss
A massive fire broke out after a missile hit a 24-storey residential building in the Shevchenkivsky district. Whereas in Podil, another nine-storey building suffered heavy damage due to missile debris falling on its roof.
Loss of life and property and blackout
According to initial reports, there has been massive loss of life and property in this devastating attack. At least 8 civilians have been seriously injured in Kiev alone. Whereas in other parts of Ukraine, 4 people have been confirmed dead and 13 injured. There is a possibility of many people still being buried under the debris.
electricity grid completely stopped
After the attack, the electricity grid of three big districts of Kiev has come to a complete standstill. Due to which thousands of people are forced to live in darkness. The intensity of the attacks was so terrible that thousands of civilians had to take shelter in underground metro stations throughout the night to save their lives. Disaster management teams are currently busy removing the debris and evacuating the trapped people safely.
