Two Indian medical students died in Kazakhstan

New Delhi, 02 June 2026: Two Indian medical students Two Indian medical students have died in Kazakhstan. Brijraj Meena and Nikhil Kuri, both from Rajasthan, were studying in the second year of MBBS at Karaganda Medical University in Kazakhstan.

Two students are reported to have drowned during bath time in Kazakhstan on Saturday. All India Medical Association (FAIMA) Doctors Association has formally written a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs requesting immediate intervention and assistance in repatriating the bodies of two students who died in Kazakhstan.

The death of the students has come as a huge shock to the Indian medical student community, their friends and families. His loved ones have been shocked by this incident and his fellow students studying abroad are deeply saddened.

FAIMA Doctors Association representative Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, in a letter to the Foreign Ministry, has requested the government to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families in this difficult time.

Dr. Khan stressed that the bereaved families are going through an unimaginable tragedy and they should receive all possible assistance from the authorities. He requested the Ministry and the Embassy to repatriate the bodies to their home countries as soon as possible so that the families can conduct dignified funerals as per their customs, traditions and religious beliefs.
