The hassle of plastic will end, Mother Dairy brings degradable packets

Mother Dairy has taken a big and unique step to deal with the problem of increasing plastic waste and pollution in the country. The company on Tuesday launched India’s first milk packet, which will automatically decompose in the soil after use and will be completely destroyed. This means that now the problem of plastic waste caused by milk packets can be reduced to a great extent. This new effort of Mother Dairy, one of the major milk companies of the country, is being considered a major change in the direction of saving the environment. This new initiative will be launched from Delhi-NCR on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June.

Mother Dairy launched milk pouches made with this new technology in a press conference on Tuesday. Initially the company will sell its cow milk packed in this eco-friendly pouch. Mother Dairy sells about 55 lakh liters of milk every day in many states of the country.

The pouch was ready after 4 years of research.

Company Managing Director Jayateertha Chari said that it took more than four years to develop this special pouch. He said the aim was to create a packaging solution that does not leave plastic waste in the environment after use. This pouch will also be normally recyclable and can also be destroyed naturally if needed.

Mother Dairy says that such a special technology has been used in this new packaging, due to which the packet gradually turns into natural wax. After this, the microorganisms present in the soil convert this wax into completely natural elements. This will reduce the problem of plastic waste spreading here and there and will not harm the environment.

There will be no additional burden on consumers

National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman Meenesh Shah said that this new milk packet will automatically dissolve in the soil in a few years and will be completely destroyed. He clarified that there will be no increase in milk prices due to this new packaging. Shah said that this step of Mother Dairy will set a new example for the dairy sector and will play a big role in saving the environment. According to him, this is a major achievement towards eco-friendly and sustainable packaging in the country.
