Prayagraj. Soraon police station, successfully busting the incident of electrical wire theft, arrested a wanted accused and recovered about 60 kg of stolen electrical wire from his possession. The police took action against the accused under relevant sections and sent him to court.
According to the police, the accused Sachin son of Ram Bahadur, resident of Jadwapur Katra Gulab, police station Jethwara, district Pratapgarh, who is wanted under case number 185/2026 section 303 (2) of the Indian Justice Code (IJC), registered in police station Soraon, was arrested on Tuesday near Lusanpur Pulia of the police station area. At the time of arrest, stolen electrical wire was also recovered from the accused.
During investigation, it came to light that on May 30, 2026, the accused had committed theft by cutting the wire of 33 KV power line passing near village Balkaranpur of Soraon police station area. On receiving information about the incident, there was panic among the electricity department and the local people. A case was registered in the Soraon police station and a police team was deployed to search for the accused.
On the basis of continuous investigation and information from the informer, the police arrested the accused. Stolen electrical wire weighing about 60 kg was recovered from his possession. In the case based on recovery, section 317 (2) IPC. Has also been increased.
Police officials said that incidents of electrical wire theft not only cause damage to government property but also affect the power supply and cause problems to the general public. Strict action will continue against those involved in such crimes.
The age of the arrested accused Sachin is said to be around 30 years. The police is also interrogating him and trying to find out whether any other person was involved in this theft incident or not.
Sub Inspector Alok Kumar Gaur, Sub Inspector Prem Narayan Pandey, Constable Niranjan Singh and Recruit Constable Shankar Singh Yadav played important roles in this action.
