Weather Update: Hail will fall from Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan, dust storm will blow in many states, alert issued

IMD Weather Update: Today there is a possibility of rain in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain, hail and storm with a speed of 80 km per hour in 17 states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar.

Heavy rain is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Mahe, and Lakshadweep. At the same time, there is a strong possibility of rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Coastal Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka. So today, except Bihar, all the states of the country will get relief from heat wave.

Apart from this, light rain is being predicted over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and parts of North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rain and storm warning

Heavy rainfall is forecast at isolated places over many states in the country including Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Mahe, and all areas of Karnataka (coastal, northern interior, and southern interior).

Thunderstorms and strong winds: Storm with strong winds (50–60 kmph, gusting to 70 kmph) is forecast over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana.

Hail and dust storms: There is a possibility of hailstorm at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, while dust storms are expected in western Rajasthan.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 37°C and 39°C (below normal), and the minimum temperature will be between 26°C and 28°C (near normal).
