BJP got a shock of 440 volts: I have no future in BJP, this veteran leader met Amit Shah and announced his resignation.

New Delhi: The biggest and shocking news of this time is coming out from the politics of South India. K., who is considered a big face of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu. Annamalai has now made up her mind to bid farewell to BJP. According to the ongoing discussions in political circles, he may submit his resignation from his post and party very soon. Annamalai had a special meeting with the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday and clearly told him the real reason for leaving the party. It is being told that Annamalai is now going to start his own new political party, due to which it is completely certain that he will leave BJP.

Meanwhile, BJP insiders confirmed the news of Annamalai’s resignation and told the media that Annamalai now feels that there is no big opportunity or political future left for her within the BJP. Let us tell you that former IPS officer Annamalai had joined BJP in the year 2021. Now instead of any controversy, he has chosen the path of a very respectable farewell from the party.

Annamalai’s golden journey is coming to an end

Of. The statewide yatra “En Mana, En Makkal (My Land, My People)”, which proved to be a milestone in Annamalai’s political career, was flagged off by Home Minister Amit Shah himself on July 28, 2023. This historic padyatra, which lasted for about 200 days, covered all the 234 assembly seats of Tamil Nadu. This Mahayatra concluded on February 28, 2024 with a huge public meeting and address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At that time, no analyst observing the politics of Tamil Nadu had even imagined that K. This golden and shining journey of Annamalai will end so soon. The former Tamil Nadu BJP president headed to Delhi on Tuesday and openly discussed his desire to resign with the top leadership and senior leaders of the party. He has demanded a cordial and peaceful departure from the leaders.

Will Annamalai start his new political party now?

The most talked about thing in political circles is that 41 year old K. Annamalai is preparing to launch a new regional party of his own, and that is why he is saying goodbye to BJP. Annamalai is currently running a social organization named “We the Leaders”. There are speculations that in the coming days this organization may take the form of his new political party.

Annamalai left the country’s prestigious khaki uniform (police job) and entered the field of politics. The BJP high command also saw a different ‘spark’ and amazing leadership ability in him, due to which he was given such a big responsibility in a place like Tamil Nadu in a very short time. But now Annamalai has decided to part ways. However, it is a matter of relief for BJP that Annamalai has clearly indicated that his new political innings will also be completely based on the agenda of Hindutva and intense nationalism, due to which there will be no harm to BJP’s vote bank.

Inspired by PM Modi, police job was called Tata-ByeBye

In the year 2020 K. Annamalai had resigned from the police service saying that he was deeply inspired by the working style of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was coming into politics to serve the country. Within weeks of his entry into politics, BJP made him the state vice president and just a year later, he became the youngest president of the party’s Tamil Nadu unit.

His 200-day padayatra was not just an election rally, but it served to sharpen his political strategy on the ground in Tamil Nadu. By the end of this visit, Annamalai had become a prominent and aggressive face of Tamil Nadu politics, known for his fiery speeches and direct attacks on the ruling DMK government.

Of. BJP got the benefit of Annamalai’s hard work clearly in the Lok Sabha elections. While in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP got only 3.66 percent votes in Tamil Nadu, in the 2024 elections, on the strength of Annamalai, this graph directly increased to 11 percent. But after this, Annamalai’s distance from the central leadership of the party continued to increase on the issue of alliance with Dravidian parties.

Why was Annamalai angry?

The Delhi leadership of BJP, which had never been able to establish its foothold on the soil of Tamil Nadu, always believed that it could move forward only by forming an alliance with the state’s biggest Dravidian party, AIADMK. But Annamalai completely disagreed with this thinking. He believed that BJP should leave the crutches and contest the elections on its own.

In her statements, Annamalai had made aggressive comments against the big leaders of Dravidian ideology including former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, due to which AIADMK got extremely angry and the alliance of both the parties broke. But just before the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the BJP high command again joined hands with AIADMK. AIADMK had set a condition for the alliance, which put brakes on Annamalai’s career in BJP. Under the pressure of this condition, he was removed from the post of State President and the command was handed over to Nainar Nagendran in his place, due to which Annamalai has now taken the final decision of leaving the party.
