Ranveer Singh reduced fees, but will earn big from profit sharing

New Delhi. Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster film series ‘Dhurendhar’ achieved tremendous success at the box office. The film’s co-producer Jyoti Deshpande revealed that Ranveer did not charge a huge fee in the traditional way for this project. Instead he opted for a “backend deal” i.e. a share in the film’s profits with a small fixed fee. This strategy later proved to be very beneficial for him.

Director Aditya Dhar also took risk
The film’s director Aditya Dhar also adopted the same model. They also accepted a share in the profits of the film by taking a low fixed fee. According to the producers, the purpose of this arrangement was that the key people associated with the film should have a direct involvement in the success and everyone should focus on giving better results.

When the budget increased, but the bet was successful
According to Jyoti Deshpande, the actual expenditure of the film was much higher than the initial estimate. The budget that was fixed in the beginning later almost doubled. However, the film’s spectacular earnings turned this risk into success and everyone from investors to artists benefited from it.

Franchise of two films made from one film
The makers say that initially ‘Dhurandhar’ was being made as a single film. But after the shooting of the first schedule was completed, the scope of the story and footage increased so much that it was decided to release it in two parts. This decision later proved to be the biggest strength of the franchise.

Great star cast increased the strength of the film
Apart from Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Artists like Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Gaurav Gera, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi were seen.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ entered in the record book

According to reports, ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’ together did a worldwide business of around Rs 3000 crore. Whereas ‘Dhurandhar 2’ reached second place among the highest grossing films of Indian cinema. Dangal remains at the top position in this list.

  • The success of ‘Dhurandhar’ shows that big fees are not the only way to earn money in the film industry. The right strategy, risk appetite and profit sharing model can prove to be extremely profitable for both artists and producers.
