New Delhi.The FIFA World Cup 2026 is going to be organized jointly in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11. This tournament will be one of the biggest events in football history, where once again the eyes of the world will be on the great players.
This World Cup of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is considered to be the last one, which makes the tournament even more historic. Whereas defending champion Argentina will once again try to defend the title.

Germany’s legendary striker Miroslav Klose is the highest goalscorer in World Cup history. He played 24 matches in 4 World Cups between 2002 and 2014 and scored 16 goals. His highlight was consistent performances, including 5 goals each in 2002 and 2006. No one has been able to break this record till now.

Ronaldo, nicknamed the “Phenomenon”, scored 15 goals in 19 matches between 1994 and 2006. The 2002 World Cup was the golden chapter of his career, where he made Brazil the champion by scoring 8 goals.
3. Just Fontaine – 13 goals (record in one tournament)
Just Fontaine created history in the 1958 World Cup. He scored 13 goals in just 6 matches, which is a record for the most goals in a single edition. This achievement is considered almost unbreakable even today.
4. Lionel Messi – 13 goals
Lionel Messi scored 13 goals in the World Cup from 2006 to 2022. The 2022 World Cup was the most memorable tournament of his career, where he made Argentina the champion by scoring 7 goals.
5. Kylian Mbappe – 12 goals (and counting)
Kylian Mbappe has scored 12 goals in just 14 matches so far. His performance in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups was excellent, especially in 2022, he won the Golden Boot by scoring 8 goals and scored a hat-trick in the final.
