  • 250 grams of okra
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour
  • 2 tablespoons of rice flour
  • 1 tsp red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • A pinch of oats
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying or shallow frying
  • A little lemon juice

  • First wash okra and dry it completely. Then cut it into long thin pieces.
  • In a large bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, red chillies, turmeric, coriander-cumin powder, garam masala, oava and salt.
  • Add the chopped okra to the masala and mix gently. Add few drops of oil and lemon juice if needed.
  • Heat oil in a pan. The oil should be medium hot so that okra becomes crispy.
  • Drop a little okra in oil and fry until golden. Don’t move too much.
  • Drain the fried okra on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot crispy okra topped with chaat masala or a squeeze of lemon.
  • Serve this okra with chapati. You can also serve it with tea as a snack.
