After that, the volatile organic compounds released with breath are captured in this mask. After taking the samples, they are taken to the laboratory. Where specially trained dogs examine them. Dogs have been trained to recognize odors that point to chemical signals associated with diseases such as cancer.

Claims up to 90% accuracy

Regarding this new technology, Swaratika Majumdar, co-founder of the startup, said that if a person has cancer, then dogs identify it in almost 90 percent of the cases. Not only this, about 90 percent accuracy has also been seen in the second phase trials conducted on about 1,500 people and patients in the last two years. Seeing such data further strengthens the possibilities of this technology.

AI will do the final analysis

In this new method, not only the smelling ability of dogs is being used but AI also plays an important role in it. What happens is that the patterns and chemical signals recognized by the dogs are analyzed through AI. So that the results can be trusted more and an easier way is found to implement the entire process on a large scale in the future.
