The Producers Guild of India has put out a strongly worded official statement addressing what it calls rising incidents where talent directors and technicians start backing away from their promises to producers sometimes right at the eleventh hour.

The statement arrives while industry arguments about professional obligations film timelines and those last minute exits have turned into some of the biggest conversation points within the trade lately.

In its statement the Producers Guild of India said it has gotten formal complaints from its members Excel Entertainment Private Limited and Panorama Studios International Limited about matters surfacing just days before principal photography even starts.

While the Guild’s note doesn’t mention any person directly the timing feels heavy because both production houses have been in the spotlight lately after high profile exits from big franchise films.

Excel Entertainment which is run by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani seems to be dealing with a bit of a mess lately after Ranveer Singh reportedly walked out of Don 3.

The movie itself had already stirred tremendous curiosity, the moment Ranveer was announced as the new Don carrying the iconic series forward after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

But then his exit from the highly anticipated project is said to have caused some serious complications for the people behind it mainly because a lot of groundwork had already been laid into getting the film ready that kind of prep doesn’t just vanish overnight.
