AMARA Hall of Fame Awards in New York Postponed Amid Global Uncertainty and Travel Concerns
New York, June 3, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Advisory Council of the AMARA Hall of Fame Awards has announced the postponement of the much-awaited international event that was scheduled to be held on September 6, 2026, at the prestigious David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in New York.
The organizers said the decision was taken after extensive consultations with stakeholders and participants in view of rapidly changing global circumstances, increasing geopolitical uncertainty and concerns related to international travel and logistics.
According to an official statement, one of the major factors influencing the decision was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent public appeal urging Indian citizens to avoid non-essential overseas travel during the current sensitive period in the larger national and economic interest.
Commenting on the development, Sharad Wala, Vice President Communications, said the AMARA platform, which has deep roots within the global Indian community, respects the Prime Minister’s appeal and acknowledges the uncertainty it has created among Indian celebrities, business leaders, sponsors and participants associated with the event.
The organizers also cited ongoing geopolitical tensions in several parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East, disruptions in international airline operations, economic volatility, visa-related challenges and broader global instability as significant reasons behind the postponement.
The statement noted that under the prevailing circumstances, it had become increasingly difficult to ensure the world-class international experience that the organizers had envisioned for the event.
The Advisory Council further clarified that a fresh date for the AMARA Hall of Fame Awards would be announced at an appropriate time after reviewing the evolving global situation.
The AMARA Hall of Fame Awards is regarded as a prominent international platform celebrating achievements and contributions of distinguished personalities from diverse fields across the global Indian diaspora.
