Ritesh apologized for celebrating by wearing a T-shirt with Shivaji Maharaj’s name on it
Tezzbuzz Desk – Popular actor of Marathi and Hindi film industry Ritesh Deshmukh is celebrating the success of his film ‘Raja Shivaji’ these days. The film has received tremendous support from the audience and recently a special event was organized to celebrate its success. However, the actor got embroiled in controversy after a video of the same ceremony went viral on social media.
In the viral video, Riteish Deshmukh was seen dancing wearing a T-shirt with the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. After the video surfaced, some people on social media objected to it and started criticizing the actor. Some users called it against the honor of Shivaji Maharaj, while some people even claimed that Ritesh was in an inebriated state.
Amidst the growing controversy, Ritesh Deshmukh has presented his side through social media. He issued a long statement clarifying that he had no intention of insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in any way. He told that he was continuously using the same T-shirt during the promotional campaign of the film and had also reached the event directly for promotional activities. There was no opportunity to change clothes in a hurry, due to which he attended the function in the same T-shirt.
The actor said in his statement that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a symbol of respect, inspiration and self-respect for him. He has unwavering faith in him and will continue to do so in the future also. He also said that if any of his actions have inadvertently hurt someone’s sentiments, he sincerely apologizes for it.
Ritesh Deshmukh also gave a clear reaction to the allegations of drinking alcohol. He said that the things being said about him on social media are completely wrong. The actor claimed that he has never consumed alcohol in his life till date and has no intention of doing so in the future. Therefore the allegations being made against him are baseless and factless.
Ritesh also revealed that the person who made the viral video was not an invited guest of the event. According to him, the event was organized only for the artists, technicians and people associated with the film who contributed to the making of the film for the last three and a half years.
In the end the actor once again apologized to everyone saying that his aim was only to celebrate the success of his team and not to hurt anyone’s sentiments. He concluded his message with ‘Jai Shivrai’ and reiterated his reverence for Shivaji Maharaj.
At present, this statement of Ritesh Deshmukh has become a topic of discussion on social media and both his supporters and critics are giving their respective reactions.
