Mumbai, June 4. The Indian Air Force created history on Thursday when its state-of-the-art fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30 MKI landed at Navi Mumbai International Airport for the first time. As soon as this powerful fighter aircraft landed on the runway, the entire atmosphere resonated with its dignified presence. Earlier in October 2024, the C-295 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force had made the first historic landing on the runway of this airport. On that occasion, Sukhoi-30 did a flypast in the sky. Now the landing of Sukhoi-30 MKI on the runway for the first time is being considered as another important achievement in the direction of expanding the capability of the Air Force.

It is noteworthy that Sukhoi-30 MKI is one of the most important fighter aircraft of India. Some time ago, the Indian Air Force had comprehensively demonstrated its military capability during the ‘Vayu Shakti’ exercise in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. During this demonstration held at Pokhran Range near Pakistan border, the sky piercing roar of Sukhoi-30 MKI demonstrated its firepower and power.

Referring to the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ during the exercise, the message was given that the Indian Air Force is fully capable of maintaining its dominance in the air and delivering accurate strikes over long distances.
120 More than 100 aircraft took part
18 important targets were identified on the first day of the exercise, which included terrorist camps, enemy airstrips, petroleum stores, radar stations, bunkers, convoys of tanks, communication centres, logistics centers and convoys of military vehicles. Air Force personnel destroyed these targets with utmost precision. India’s advanced air defense systems were also involved in this extensive exercise. Apart from Sukhoi-30 MKI, fighter planes like Tejas, Rafale, MiG-29, Mirage-2000 and Jaguar also took part in this exercise with participation of more than 120 aircraft.
