Big gift to 7 districts of Bihar, stone mining got approval
Patna. A big step has been taken towards giving new momentum to the mining sector in Bihar. Preparations to restart stone mining activities have intensified in seven districts of the state. The Department of Mines and Geology has prepared the basis for mining projects by taking forward the necessary processes. This is expected to not only increase government revenue but also boost employment and construction activities at the local level.
Mining became easier in seven districts
As part of departmental preparations, significant progress has been made in stone mining in Sheikhpura, Gaya, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Banka and Nawada districts. The processes related to assessment of mineral resources and determination of mining area are being completed in these districts. After this, the way for e-auction will be cleared for the operation of mines.
Mining work will start from 31 mines
According to the proposed plan, mining activities are likely to be conducted from a total of 31 stone quarries in the seven districts. With the commissioning of these mines, the availability of stone for construction works will increase and the local market will be strengthened. Experts believe that this will also benefit projects like road, bridge and building construction, as the necessary construction materials will be available locally.
E-auction will increase transparency
E-auction process will be adopted for allotment of mining leases. Auctioning through online system will increase transparency and provide a level playing field to all interested investors. It will also help in controlling illegal mining and irregularities.
New employment opportunities will be created
The commencement of stone mining activities is likely to provide direct and indirect employment to thousands of people. Apart from the operation of mines, people associated with transport, crusher industry, machinery operation and construction sector will also get benefit from it. Increasing economic activities in rural areas can also provide new energy to local trade and small businesses.
