Great news for LPG consumers! Government and oil companies suddenly took this big decision
A very relieving and very good news has emerged for crores of consumers using LPG across the country. Amidst the news of continuously rising inflation and fuel crisis, the government has given great relief to the countrymen and made it clear that there is no shortage of fuel in the country. According to the government, adequate reserves of petrol, diesel, LPG and natural gas are available in the country and there is no situation of supply stoppage at any petrol pump or gas agency. Along with this, oil companies have also shared important information regarding booking and delivery of LPG, which every consumer must know.
The continuous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country has already increased the concern of the common man. Now the consumers of LPG and CNG are also afraid that their rates may also increase in the coming days. If we talk about Delhi, here CNG prices have been increased twice in just a week. In such a situation, the general public fears that the prices of domestic gas and pipelined natural gas (PNG) may also skyrocket soon. On the other hand, the recent increase in the prices of petrol and diesel has ruined everything from kitchen to travel budget.
Common man is distressed due to new rates of petrol and diesel
Oil distribution companies have recently increased the prices of petrol and diesel by about 90 paise per liter. This is the second time within a week that fuel prices have been increased. After this new increase, petrol in the country’s capital Delhi has reached the level of Rs 98.64 per liter and diesel at Rs 91.58 per liter. Whereas in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, the price of petrol has become Rs 107.59 and diesel Rs 94.08 per liter. The situation is no different in Chennai too, where petrol is being sold at Rs 104.49 and diesel at Rs 96.11 per litre.
Explaining the real reason behind this surge in fuel prices, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that the ongoing tension in West Asia has been going on for more than two and a half months. Because of this, the situation along the Strait of Hormuz has not yet become normal. There has been a huge rise in the prices of crude oil, natural gas and LPG in the international market, which is directly impacting the import of crude oil and gas by India.
Adequate reserves of fuel in the country, oil companies assured
Amid rising prices, oil distribution companies have made the situation completely clear regarding supply. According to officials, there is ample stock of petrol, diesel and LPG in the country. For example, fuel supply in Telangana is completely normal and there is no need for people to panic or worry. Companies have enough reserve stock to easily meet the current demand, due to which there will be no impact on the supply chain in the future.
Oil companies have assured consumers that they are monitoring the fuel supply on the ground round the clock. Special arrangements have been made for speedy delivery of stock in areas where demand is high. According to the data released by the companies, in the first week of May itself, the supply of petrol has been increased by 14.2 percent and the supply of diesel by 15.7 percent as compared to normal days, so that there is no shortage of oil in the market.
LPG booking declined due to heat
While sharing a very interesting data, officials said that due to the scorching heat in the country, there has been a slight decline in the booking of domestic LPG cylinders. Due to very high temperatures, people have reduced advance booking this time. According to the data, since the beginning of this month, 20.06 lakh domestic LPG cylinders have been delivered in Telangana alone, which is enough to meet the seasonal demand there.
Along with this, oil companies are rapidly promoting the ‘Delivery Authentication Code’ (DAC) process to stop black marketing of gas and bring transparency in supply. This is completely an OTP based system, which ensures that your gas cylinder does not go into wrong hands and reaches only you. At present, in states like Telangana, more than 95 percent of LPG cylinders are being delivered through this DAC system.
On the other hand, oil companies have appealed to the general public not to pay attention to any rumors on social media or about fuel shortage in the neighbourhood. Customers should rely only on official information as the fuel supply in the country is completely under the control of the government. However, market experts say that considering the global market conditions and the changing prices of crude oil, price fluctuations may continue in the coming days.
