After Rahul-Kharge meeting, stir intensifies, preparations for major changes in Congress

Tezzbuzz Desk – After the change of leadership in Karnataka, Congress is now preparing to take a big step towards strengthening the organizational structure. According to party sources, a major reshuffle may be seen in the Congress organization in the coming days. The performance of many state in-charges, state presidents and leaders holding organizational positions is being reviewed, on the basis of which important changes can be made.

Recently, under the change of power in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar has been given the responsibility of Chief Minister. After this BK Hariprasad was made the state Congress president. This decision is being seen as the beginning of organizational restructuring of Congress. The party is now paying special attention to those states where assembly elections are going to be held in the next one or two years.

Sources say that the Congress leadership is eyeing states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Keeping in view the election challenges in these states, a strategy is being prepared to make the organization more active and effective.

According to the information, in-charge of many states including Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Assam, Rajasthan and West Bengal can be changed. The party leadership believes that new faces and new strategies are needed to strengthen the election preparations. Apart from this, the work of many state presidents is also being reviewed.

Discussions are also intense regarding the post of State Congress President in Rajasthan. It is believed that the leaders who have been holding this position for a long time are being considered to be replaced by new leadership. At the same time, organizational changes in Tamil Nadu and Manipur are also considered almost certain.

Changes within the party will not be limited only to the states, but consideration is being given to giving responsibility to new faces in the central organization as well. There is also a discussion going on to include young and active leaders in place of some senior leaders in the Congress Working Committee. Recently, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been included in the Congress Working Committee, which is being considered as part of this process.

According to sources, continuous meetings are being held on this subject between Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal. The party leadership wants that before the upcoming elections, the organization should be completely streamlined and strong leadership should be established in the states.

Political analysts believe that this reshuffle in the Congress organization can prove to be very important in view of the upcoming assembly elections. The party’s effort is to improve its electoral performance through organizational strength in the states where it is in direct competition with BJP.

Now all eyes are on the next decisions of the Congress high command, because many major changes are expected to be announced in the party organization in the coming weeks.
