The weather took a sudden turn in Delhi-NCR, the day became dark due to heavy rains along with strong winds.
New Delhi: After the formal entry of south-west monsoon in Kerala, the weather has started changing rapidly in many parts of the country. Its effect is now clearly visible in Delhi-NCR also. The weather suddenly changed in Delhi and surrounding areas and thick dark clouds appeared in the sky. Heavy rains along with strong winds have started at many places, which has brought great relief to the people from the heat.
The effect of the sudden change in weather in Delhi-NCR was also seen in Noida, where between 2 to 3 pm the sky was completely covered with dark clouds and within a short time a “night like” atmosphere was created. Due to the sharp changes, vehicles on many roads had to turn on their headlights. This sudden dust storm and strong winds not only gave respite from the heat to the people, but also affected the life of the people. Due to dusty winds, visibility reduced considerably in many areas. Dust, leaves from trees and light garbage were seen flying in the air on the roads, due to which people had to face problems in movement.
According to IMD, the weather pattern will remain changed in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy with occasional light rain or thundershowers. The Meteorological Department has indicated that this situation may persist till June 6, due to which people are expected to get some respite from the heat. According to the yellow alert already issued by IMD, Delhi will remain partly cloudy during the day on June 4 and 5. Light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms may be seen in the afternoon or evening.
Apart from this, there is also a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour during this period, which may create conditions like dust storm and reduced visibility in some areas. Meteorologists say that this change is a sign of active pre-monsoon activities, which will gradually strengthen the effect of monsoon.
According to meteorologists, after the onset of south-west monsoon in Kerala, the moisture level has increased in many parts of the country, the effect of which is now visible on the weather of North India as well. For this reason, pre-monsoon activities have intensified in Delhi-NCR. Experts say that due to increased humidity and local meteorological conditions, Delhi-NCR may see strong winds, dust storms and sporadic rain in the coming days. Along with this, change in weather will also affect the temperature. According to estimates, the maximum temperature may drop by about 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in the coming days, which is likely to provide relief to people from the scorching heat.
