KS Bharat said goodbye to international cricket, played only 7 tests for India

Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat announced his retirement from international cricket on Thursday, June 4. Bharat has made this announcement through social media. KS Bharat played only 7 matches in his international career. The final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 was the most memorable match of his career.

KS Bharat announced his retirement

32-year-old Bharat scored 221 runs at an average of 20.09 in 7 matches played between 2023 and 2024 in his international career. His international debut was in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Before becoming a part of that series, Bharat got a place in the squad as a backup wicketkeeper-batsman in the Test series against West Indies, in which he was seen sitting only on the bench.

Bharat played his last Test against England in Vizag in 2024. Bharat always received praise for his wicket-keeping, but he was defeated in batting. For this reason Bharat could not retain his place in the team.

To announce his retirement, Bharat has shared a long post on social media. they wrote,

‘With pride and gratitude, I announce my retirement from international cricket. Playing for my country has been the biggest honor of my life.

Along with this, he thanked BCCI, Andhra Cricket Association, VDCA as well as his captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid.

Bharat also got a chance to play in big mega leagues like IPL. He was a part of RCB team in IPL 2021 and Delhi Capitals team in IPL 2022. Bharat scored 199 runs in 10 IPL matches with the help of 1 half-century.
