In Sanatan Dharma it is believed that Lord Shiva always protects his devotees. Lord Shiva had taken many incarnations to show the right path to the world and also to kill sinful demons. According to religious belief, Lord Shiva had incarnated 19 times. Through these incarnations he eliminated unrighteousness and established religion. Lord Shiva took many incarnations not only to destroy the demons, but also gave important teachings to the devotees through his many incarnations.
There are some incarnations of Lord Shiva through which we get to learn a lot. While on one hand Lord Shiva had shown his harsh form in the Bhairava incarnation, on the other hand he showed his calm and honest nature in the Bhikshuvarya incarnation. Bhairava incarnation of Lord Shiva
According to the legend, once Lord Brahma was drowned in his ego. In this arrogance he had forgotten all his limits. It was very important to make them understand. Because of this, Lord Shiva took the form of Bhairav. Lord Bhairav had cut off one head of Lord Brahma, due to which his ego was destroyed. Through this incarnation, Lord Shiva taught the devotees that people should not let ego dominate them.

Piplad is considered to be the first incarnation among the 19 incarnations of Lord Shiva. Many devotees are extremely afraid of the sight of Shani Dev. If such people worship Lord Piplad then they can be saved from the wrath of Shani Dev.
According to the legend, Piplad was born as the son of sage Dadhichi. Piplad’s father died early. Besides, his mother had also left him, due to which Piplad was left alone in his childhood. However, he worshiped Lord Shiva. Due to loneliness, Piplad once cursed Shani Dev. Which Shani Dev could not bear and left from there. Later, when Piplad ji’s anger subsided, he apologized to Shani Dev. After his anger cooled down, Piplad realized that he had cursed wrongly. Through this incarnation, Lord Shiva gave the message that one should not curse anyone in anger, but should forgive.

Nandi Avatar
Nandi ji is not just the vehicle of Lord Shiva, but he is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva himself. According to mythology, Nandi always stays with Lord Shiva on Mount Kailash. When any deity wants to meet Lord Shiva, he first takes permission from Nandiji. Nandi ji has the knowledge of religion like the sages. According to religious belief, any person can convey his wish to Lord Shiva by whispering his wish in Nandi ji’s ear.
Grihapati Avatar
According to religious legends, Grihapati was born in a family where only his mother was there and his father had passed away. Grihapati always worshiped Lord Shiva since his childhood. Seeing him, the people around used to say that he was just wasting time.
One day a Baba told the mother of the householder that the householder was not very old. Hearing this his mother started crying. Then the householder said to his mother, ‘Mother, don’t worry, Lord Shiva will give me a long life.’ After this the householder chanted the name of Shiva. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shiva blessed him with a long life.

monastic incarnation
In this incarnation, Lord Shiva became a monk, whose body was always covered with ashes. There was lack of money in the monk’s life, yet he was always happy and smiling. Through this incarnation, Lord Shiva taught us that we should not be sad due to lack of money.
