Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, under the able guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar, Area Officer City Randhir Mishra and Inspector in-charge of Police Station Robertsganj, the Police Station Robertsganj has achieved significant success in the special campaign being run against crimes against women and children and human trafficking.
FIR No. 109/2026 registered at Police Station Robertsganj under Section 137(2), 143(4), 98, 61(2), 64(2)(m) BNS. And 02 accused wanted under Section 16/17 POCSO Act were arrested on 04.06.2026 by the police team of Robertsganj police station, taking immediate action on the information of the informer, from under the Robertsganj flyover and an organized gang of human trafficking was exposed.
The evidence collected during interrogation and investigation brought to light the fact that the accused had lured a minor girl and handed her over/sold her to several persons for the purpose of financial gain through members of a human trafficking gang in different states. During this period the girl was physically and mentally exploited. Transactions worth lakhs of rupees made by the gang members in exchange for the girl child have also come to light.
On the basis of the evidence obtained during the investigation, the statement given by the victim before the court and other evidence, the involvement of the accused was prima facie proven, on the basis of which both the accused were arrested and necessary legal action was taken. The process of detailed investigation of the gang network and arrest of other members is going on by the police.
