What Happened The Last Time India And Afghanistan Played A Test Match?

While the glory basking of a memorable IPL season culminates, the fans and the Indian cricket team players now look forward to the one-off Test match against Afghanistan.

Team India has arrived in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, the city for the IND vs AFG one-off Test, where the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium will host its maiden Test match.

This will be the first time that Shubman Gill and the majority of the Indian Test squad players will face Afghanistan in a Test match.

The only Test match between India and Afghanistan will begin on June 6 in Mullanpur. It will be followed by a three-ODI series that will feature Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

The Indian Test squad includes three uncapped players: Rajasthan’s left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Manav Suthar, Punjab pacer Gurnoor Brar, and Vidarbha’s left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey.

Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested, while Axar Patel and Akash Deep didn’t find a place in the squad. KL Rahul has replaced Rishabh Pant as the vice-captain.

Afghanistan have also rested a couple of their key players. Batsman Ibrahim Zadran and leg-spinner Rashid Khan have been rested, with Hashmatullah Shahidi leading the visitors in both the Test and ODIs.

This will be the second time that Afghanistan will take on India in a Test match.
