Health Minister did not reach the hospital even after the death of 4 people, the opposition asked- who will answer?

Tezzbuzz Desk – The politics of the state has heated up after a massive fire incident in a private hospital in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Amidst the death of four people and injuries to many patients in the accident, the opposition has started cornering the government regarding the visit of Health Minister Nishant Kumar to Delhi. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has alleged that despite such a major incident, the Health Minister neither reached the hospital nor responded on time.

In fact, a fire broke out in the ICU of a private hospital located in Brahmpura area of Muzaffarpur in the early hours of Thursday. The fire spread so fast that within a few minutes the entire ward was filled with smoke. At least four patients died in the accident, while several others sustained burn injuries. The patients admitted to the hospital were immediately shifted to other hospitals.

According to the District Magistrate, the administration and relief teams reached the spot as soon as information about the fire was received. About 15 patients were admitted in the ICU of the hospital, efforts were made to evacuate them safely. However, the lives of four people could not be saved.

In the preliminary investigation, short circuit is being considered as the possible cause of the fire. The hospital management has said that investigation into the incident has been started and full cooperation is being given to the administration. Officials believe that the real cause of the fire will be known only after the investigation is completed.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Nishant Kumar’s departure for Delhi became a subject of political debate. The opposition alleges that there was no official response from the minister for several hours after the accident and he did not even visit the spot. Later he expressed grief over the incident through social media and informed about the order for investigation.

Nishant Kumar said in his statement that the incident that happened in the private hospital of Muzaffarpur is very sad. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, he said that necessary instructions have been given to the administration for better treatment and safety of the injured. He also assured that the entire matter will be investigated and action will be taken against those responsible.

At the same time, RJD raised questions on the attitude of the Health Minister by posting on social media. The party says that after such a big accident, the minister should have reached the spot and taken stock of the situation. The opposition has called this the insensitivity of the government and has demanded to fix accountability.

On the other hand, Bihar government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of the deceased. Expressing deep grief over the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that the government stands with the families of the victims and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

At present the investigation of the matter is going on by the administration. Whether fire safety standards were followed in the hospital or not is also being investigated. After the accident, questions have also started being raised regarding the security arrangements of private hospitals in the state.
