Yogi returned to Gorakhpur, got a call from Shah and his luck changed!

Yoga of Gorakshpeethadhishwar in the temple premises and Rajyoga as soon as you cross the threshold of the temple, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath i.e. the personality in whose name goons and mafias tremble, whose policy is a hit in the entire country and whose model every state wants to adopt.
Apart from being an excellent politician, Yogi Adityanath, who followed his religion dutifully, has today become such a name in Indian politics that people call him the most powerful Chief Minister of the country.

Born on 5 June 1972 in Panchur village of Yamkeshwar tehsil in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, Ajay Singh Bisht i.e. Yogi Adityanath would have been a comrade today, if his brother-in-law had his way. Yogi Adityanath had started getting interested in politics since his school days.

He became a member of ABVP, and during the student union elections he submitted his candidature for the post of secretary but did not get the ticket. Ajay Singh Bisht ran as an independent candidate. He had lost in this election but the interesting thing was that Ajay Singh Bisht’s sister’s brother-in-law i.e. brother-in-law used to be a member of the left student organization SFI.
They wanted young Ajay to join SFI but during that time Ajay Singh Bisht met ABVP worker Pramod Rawat. On his insistence, Ajay Singh Bisht joined ABVP.

The story of Yogi Adityanath becoming the Chief Minister in 2017 is also very interesting. After months of hard work and touring across the state, when the election campaign and voting was over, Yogi Adityanath wanted to take a break for a week. He had also received an offer to go abroad because he was an MP at that time.

This offer was given to him by the team of the Ministry of External Affairs, which was going to Spain. What was interesting was that the Prime Minister’s Office had removed the name of Yogi Adityanath from the visit of this team. Yogi Adityanath probably had no idea why his name was dropped. Now he had made his plan to go to Gorakhpur but time had decided something else for him.

Election results were about to come and BJP was fully confident that this time it would be successful in capturing power in Uttar Pradesh by defeating SP. On the other hand, before Yogi Adityanath left for Gorakhpur, he received a call and this call was from the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who had conveyed Prime Minister Modi’s message to Yogi. Even then Yogi had no idea that his name was being considered for the post of Chief Minister.

In the results of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections declared on 11 March 2017, BJP had won a huge majority. Out of the total 403 seats, BJP won 312 seats alone and registered a historic victory by winning a total of 325 seats including its allies. After the results, many names started being raised within the BJP for the post of Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh, in which the name of Yogi Adityanath was far behind.

Meanwhile, Yogi had also returned to Gorakhpur when he got a call from Amit Shah, who was the national president of BJP at that time. They had made chartered arrangements for Yogi Adityanath to be present in Delhi and as per the scheduled conversation, Yogi also reached Delhi.

On the morning of March 18, Yogi met Amit Shah at his residence in Delhi. This was the meeting where Amit Shah had told that Yogi Adityanath would be the next Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. However, Amit Shah had asked CM Yogi to keep this a secret for now. A new government was being formed in Uttarakhand, meanwhile in Lucknow there was a churning over the CM face.

BJP legislature party meeting was held, in which Yogi Adityanath’s name was announced as the Chief Minister. The entire story was revealed for the first time by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself in an interview given to a news portal.

Some media reports have also claimed that months before the Uttar Pradesh election results, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had written the script of making Yogi Adityanath the Chief Minister. Remember that in March 2016, a brainstorming meeting of Bharatiya Sant Samaj was held in Gorakhnath temple.

It is said that in this meeting, in the presence of senior RSS leaders, a resolution was taken to make Yogi Adityanath the Chief Minister. Then when BJP got majority in Uttar Pradesh, it became even easier for the Center to take this decision.

Yogi Adityanath was truly led on the path of politics by Guru Mahant Avaidyanath. Students had a fight with a shopkeeper in Golghar, the main market of Gorakhpur city. This proved to be a big turning point in the life of Yogi Adityanath.

There was tremendous anger among the students against the shopkeeper and at that time Yogi Adityanath had got the opportunity to take leadership of the protest. From here he had become an ‘Angry Young Man’ and had developed a strong image among the students. Avaidyanath got young Yogi Adityanath, who came into limelight after this fight, a ticket from the same Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat from where he himself had won the MP seat four times.

On the orders of his revered Gurudev and the demand of the people of Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency, Yogi Adityanath contested the first Lok Sabha elections in the year 1998 and became the youngest MP of the Parliament at the age of just 26.

Due to his daily presence among the public, annual visit to about 1500 gram sabhas under the parliamentary constituency and programs for Hindutva and development, the people of Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency made Yogi Adityanath their first choice. As a result, only Yogi Adityanath was victorious in the elections of 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014.

Today Yogi Adityanath is the name which has given a new identity to the politics of Uttar Pradesh and has put full emphasis on bringing the criminals to justice. The effect of ‘Yogi Policy’ is that its influence reaches other states also.
