Modern Solid Design: How the new electric car looks like

Skoda Peak is completely based on the company’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. It is clear from the initial sketches released by the company that the vehicle has a very strong and muscular look, with special attention given to clean surfaces, sharp detailing and balanced proportions. Its front part has a blank-off grille with a full width LED light bar and vertically stacked LED headlights. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 2,965 mm, which assures excellent space inside the cabin.

If we look at the rear, it gets special T-shaped LED taillights, in the middle of which Skoda branding is done in bold letters. To reduce air pressure and improve mileage (range), it has been provided with flush door handles, which fold inside the body when the vehicle is locked or moving. The size of its aerodynamically designed alloy wheels ranges from 19 inches to 21 inches.

Battery pack, powerful motor and 600 km range

According to global media reports, this flagship electric SUV will be available in three different powertrain variants – Peak 60, Peak 90 and Peak 90x. Their specifications are as follows:

  • Peak 60: It will get a 63 kWh battery pack which will generate power of 201 BHP with a rear-mounted electric motor. Its single charge range will be around 460 kilometers.
  • Peak 90: A larger 91 kWh battery pack is used in it. It will give a power of 282 BHP and will be able to cover a distance of more than 600 kilometers once fully charged.
  • Peak 90x: This top-spec variant will come with all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration and dual-motor setup, producing a total power of 295 BHP. Its range will also be more than 600 km.

The company has also made a big claim regarding charging speed. With the help of DC fast charging, this big SUV can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes, which will reduce the waiting time for charging during long distance journeys.

Cabin equipped with luxury features and ‘Relax Package’

To make long distance journeys comfortable, Skoda has included ‘Relax Package’ for the first time. Under this, the front seats will get massage function, leg rest and premium Sonos sound system. A large 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system is provided on the dashboard, which, combined with the augmented reality head-up display, provides essential information to the driver without taking his eyes off it.

“The Skoda Peak has been designed with practicality in mind. It is for families who need large space and want to go on long trips without any range concerns. It will set new standards in the large electric SUV segment.”
— Skoda Auto corporate statement

To keep the luggage, it has a boot space of 935 liters in 5-seater configuration, while in 7-seater mode it is 299 liters. Apart from this, a 37 liter frunk (front trunk) is also provided in the front of the vehicle. This vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which will allow you to power your e-bike or other electronic devices from the car battery during outdoor camping.
