Heat wave will increase again in UP, relief from rain will end, mercury can reach 45 degrees in many districts.

Lucknow. Due to storm, strong winds and light rain in Uttar Pradesh for the last few days, people got some relief from the scorching heat, but now this relief does not seem to last for long. The Meteorological Department has indicated that from Sunday there will once again be a major change in the weather of the state and the temperature will start rising rapidly. There is a possibility of heat wave in many areas of southern Uttar Pradesh in the coming days, while in some districts the temperature may reach 45 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy movement continued in most of the districts of the state including the capital Lucknow on Friday. There was light drizzle and strong winds at many places, due to which a slight drop in the temperature was recorded. However, meteorologists say that this relief is temporary and the heat may show its strength again in the next few days.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, cloud movement will continue in different parts of the state on Saturday also. There may be light drizzle and strong winds at some places. However, thunderstorm and rain activities are likely to weaken in western Uttar Pradesh, while the impact of the weather may persist to some extent in the northern districts.

The Meteorological Department estimates that the temperature will start rising continuously from Sunday. The effects of hot winds and heat wave will be visible in southern Uttar Pradesh during the next four to five days. After this, this effect may gradually spread to other parts of the state also.

Varanasi was the hottest city in the state on Friday, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.2 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, temperature was recorded at 42 degrees in Kanpur, 41.8 degrees in Prayagraj, 41.6 degrees in Fatehpur and 41.4 degrees Celsius in Banda. The night temperature in Varanasi was also recorded higher than normal, due to which people felt hot even at night.

The Meteorological Department has warned that the temperature may rise rapidly in the coming days and the mercury may even reach beyond 45 degrees Celsius in some areas. According to experts, at present there is a change in the weather due to active western disturbance around Jammu and Kashmir and cyclonic winds over eastern Uttar Pradesh. However, at present there is no indication of any major rain system being active.

In view of the rapidly increasing heat, health experts have advised people not to step out of the house unnecessarily in the afternoon, drink adequate amount of water and adopt measures to prevent heatstroke. According to the Meteorological Department, there is every possibility of heat wave increasing once again in most parts of the state next week.
