When the bomb fell on Khamenei’s office, I was also there; Iranian Foreign Minister described the horrifying scene of coming out of the debris

Amidst the ongoing fierce conflict between Iran and America-Israel, a very shocking and big revelation has come to light. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described the horrifying scene when he narrowly escaped the attack on the office of late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In an exclusive interview with Lebanon’s prestigious Al Mayadeen television, Araghchi said that when the Supreme Leader’s official compound was targeted in the early stages of the conflict, he was present inside the same building. After the attack, there was a scene of devastation all around and the External Affairs Minister became emotional while recounting the first thought that came to his mind while coming out of the debris.

‘The office was in ruins and I was only worried about the leader’

Recalling that historical and scary incident, Abbas Araghchi said that when the attack took place on February 28, the entire building was shaken with a loud bang. He said, "I was present at the same time in the office where the attack took place. When I was somehow getting out of the debris and smoke, my first thought and my biggest concern was only for the safety of our Supreme Leader." The Foreign Minister said that amid the outcry after the attack and the relief work, he remained uncertain for two consecutive days whether Khamenei was safe or not, because at that time there was massive destruction everywhere.

Khamenei refuses to go to the bunker: ‘Whatever happens to the people, will happen to me’

During the interview, Araghchi also shared a great story about the indomitable courage of late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his leadership abilities. He said that immediately after the attack, security circles and commanders had repeatedly advised Khamenei to go to an underground shelter or safe bunker. But the Supreme Leader clearly refused to go to a safe place. According to Araghchi, Khamenei had said the historic words that "I will not go to any shelter or safe place until every citizen of Iran also has a similar safe place. Whatever happens to my people, the same will happen to me." Araghchi said that despite direct threats and threats to his life, Khamenei stood firm till the end and continued to oversee the affairs of the country.

Iran bluntly tells neighboring countries: They will face consequences if American base is built

In his conversation, the Iranian Foreign Minister also reiterated Tehran’s strict warnings to regional countries regarding the expansion of the war. Referring to his visit to the Persian Gulf countries, Araghchi said that he had made it clear that if American military bases in any neighboring country were used to attack Iran, Iran would give a strong response. Criticizing Washington, he said that if there were no American bases in these countries, they would not have come under the scope of Iran’s retaliation. Although regional governments protested the use of their lands, the US took action without regard to their sovereignty.
