Sunny Deol, Karan Deol set to unveil ‘Batwara’ promo on Father’s Day
A special promotional plan for They drive 1947 had started building attention ahead of its release, as the makers prepared a Father’s Day-themed asset featuring Indian actors Sunny Deol and Karan Deol.
According to reports, the team had planned a unique promo to highlight the father-son bond shown in the film. The special asset was expected to be released on Father’s Day, which fell on June 21.
A source connected to the production said, “Batwara stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal, and it also features Sunny’s son, Karan Deol. This is the first time that the father and son will share screen space.”
The source added that the makers had focused on presenting their emotional on-screen dynamic through this dedicated promo. It was further stated that the final decision on the release was expected to be taken shortly before launch.
The film, earlier titled Lahore 1947had undergone a title change during its production phase. According to Vickey Lalwani the movie Lahore 1947 now carries the title They drive 1947 which has been its new name since then.

The film takes place during the challenging period which India experienced in its 1947 Partition. The story shows Mai who is an elderly Hindu woman living in Lahore after the partition.
The film produced by Aamir Khan tells the story of India’s 1947 partition through its cast which includes Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh.
