Shastri, recognised as an avid racing fan, took part in hot laps to experience the thrill of the famous Monaco circuit ahead of Sunday’s finale. The former cricketer turned commentator appeared at the Monaco GP as a special guest and enjoyed a ride around the streets of Monaco, where F1 legends like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will soon battle it out for the ultimate prize.
Monaco GP practice races are already wrapped up, with Ferrari emerging as the top contender after their dominant show in FP2. The qualifying sessions are slated to start at 7:30 PM IST on Saturday, June 6.

He has been sharing updates on social media, and the latest one features a hot laps experience. Accompanied by an experienced driver, Shastri felt the heat of the Monaco circuit, which he dubbed “fast and furious”.
He also commentated on the experience while sitting on the front seat as the car breached the 250kmph mark. The video of his Monaco GP ride has garnered massive traction on social media, accumulating over 1.4 lakh likes.
What’s Happening at Monaco Grand Prix 2026?
Team Ferrari have emerged as the team to watch out for at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc topped the first free practice on home soil, while Lewis Hamilton replicated the same in FP2, with Max Verstappen finishing third. However, the tables were turned in FP3 as championship leader Kimi Antonelli set the fastest lap of the weekend for Mercedes, beating Leclerc and Hamilton. Heading into qualifying, Ferrari remains a strong contender for pole position, while Leclerc, Hamilton, Antonelli and Max Verstappen are expected to be the main challengers.
