Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ hits another roadblock

Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ seems to be running into trouble at every step. The film was first put on hold after Kartik Aaryan’s exit and reports of disagreements.

Later, rumours started doing the rounds that Janhvi Kapoor was also no longer attached to the project. Now, the latest buzz is that the film has lost its director too.

As per Variety India,  director Advait Chandan has also walked away from Friendly 2. The filmmaker had reportedly spent around seven months developing the project before deciding to quit.

Sources told the portal that there was no major clash behind the decision but creative differences reportedly made him step away from the film.

The report also mentioned that Sini Shetty has been finalised for the movie after the makers considered a few names. The former Miss India World 2022 is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Friendly 2.

The sequel is expected to revolve around two siblings who fall for the same man leading to a messy mix of romance, confusion and comedy.

Earlier, Vikrant Massey had confirmed his involvement in the project.

Speaking to Times Nowhe had said that “I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking about it. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.”

Meanwhile a previous Filmfare report claimed that Lakshya may not be part of the film.

A source told the portal, “Dostana 2’s cast has not been locked yet. Lakshya might not do the film.” While the movie is reportedly still on track, the makers have not officially announced the final cast yet.
