Kunal Ghosh raised questions on organizational decisions, expressed displeasure!
In fact, in the National Working Committee meeting of Trinamool Congress held on Friday, many decisions were taken regarding the distribution of organizational responsibilities. In the meeting, it was decided to retain Abhishek Banerjee as the party’s general secretary, while two new posts of deputy general secretaries were created and assigned to Rajya Sabha MPs Derek O’Brien and Dola Sen.
These decisions have sparked discussion in the political circles of the state. The voices of rebellion within TMC had intensified after the party’s crushing defeat in the recent assembly elections. Many rebel leaders had cited Abhishek Banerjee’s corporate style functioning and excessive dependence on I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee) as the major reasons for the defeat.
Although Kunal Ghosh did not directly mention these decisions in his social media posts, he expressed disagreement and disappointment over some decisions of the party leadership.
He wrote that he became MLA by winning on the election symbol given by Mamata Banerjee and does not support the betrayal of the party and Mamata Banerjee by some leaders and MLAs for personal interests within just a month of the state elections.
Kunal Ghosh said, “But if instead of correcting the mistakes of the party, the same mistakes are repeated at different levels, then I cannot close my eyes to it. A large number of party workers, students and youth from different districts of West Bengal are continuously contacting and putting forward their views. We have assured to listen to them. I will meet them and what to do next will be decided later.”
He also clarified that he is still with Mamata Banerjee, but does not support the continuous mistakes being made by the party.
At the end of his post, he wrote, “I am not with those who commit betrayal and treachery, but I am keeping an eye on the situation inside and outside the party with my ears, eyes, mind, heart and mouth open.”
This comment of Kunal Ghosh is being seen as an indication of the ongoing discontent within the Trinamool Congress and growing resentment over organizational decisions.
