New Delhi: The strategic debate has once again intensified regarding the F-16 fighter planes provided by America to Pakistan and the advanced military technologies associated with them. Defense experts believe that China may also get indirect benefits of some sensitive technologies given to Pakistan, which increases the possibility of affecting the regional security balance. India’s security challenges are being discussed, especially regarding modern military communication systems like Link-16.

According to experts, on the one hand, America considers India an important partner to counter China’s influence in the Indo-Pacific region. On the other hand, it has also been continuously providing technical and logistics support to Pakistan’s F-16 fleet. According to reports, at the end of 2025, America had approved an aid package of about $686 million for Pakistan’s F-16 aircraft. This package included not only spare parts and maintenance services, but also modern avionics, secure communication systems, cryptographic equipment, mission software, simulators, training and facilities connected to the Link-16 network. Officially its objective was said to be to maintain the operational efficiency and safety of the aircraft.

Through this, fighter aircraft, missile systems, naval ships and command centers can share information with each other in a secure manner. Analysts are concerned about the fact that China and Pakistan have had deep military and strategic relations for a long time. In such a situation, study or analysis of western military technologies available with Pakistan can prove useful for China. Experts believe that information related to the operation, communication patterns and technical processes of any advanced defense system can influence future military strategies.
Although there has been no public confirmation of any direct technology transfer in this regard, defense experts say that India needs to keep a constant eye on the changing strategic scenario and further strengthen its technological and military capabilities. This is why Indian security experts are paying special attention to US-Pakistan defense cooperation and China-Pakistan strategic relations.
